Bateman Family Deck Project

Donate to the Deck Project Today!

To keep this house in working order we seek the help of our community and volunteers. One such volunteer is Jason Bateman. Jason and his family have a special connection to the House and with your help you can assist us in renovating an existing outdoor space that our families can continue to use for years to come.

Our son Brayden was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma which is a cancer of the eye back in 2009.  For many of our trips to Philadelphia we stayed at the Ronald McDonald House and what an incredible blessing it has been to our family.  My family made a commitment that when Brayden was stable we would figure out a way to give back to this charity for what they had done for us.  During one of our last visits to the Greenville Ronald McDonald House, I was on the deck grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for the residents of the house.  As I was out there I began to take a closer look at the deck and noticed that the decking has weathered and worn and there are screws and nails sitting on top of the deck boards.  It was then I made the decision to begin a campaign to raise funds to replace the house’s decking with smooth hardwood along with a hidden fastener system-just like what I did to my own home.  The Greenville Ronald McDonald House is such a nice home inside and out and this seating area for the residents could be transformed into a little oasis for them to relax and enjoy during this extremely difficult time of their life.  I am excited to take on this project and welcome all who feel led to give in any way they can to this project – Jason Bateman

On behalf of the Ronald McDonald House, the Bateman Family and the countless families that grace our doorstep we thank you in advance for your consideration of our request.
